Hello! Thank you for taking an interest in the ministry God has called us to. We have served with Cru since 2002, and until 2017 ministered on college and university campuses in Central & East Asia, Hawaii & Southern California.

We now ensure the cross-cultural training and resourcing of our International Staff & Interns as they live and serve in North Africa, the Middle East, Persian & Turkic Regions.

We enjoy cooking and eating food from cuisines of every tribe and nation with our 3 children Naomi, Tosh & Rohan. Anyone who walks into our home is family and has a seat at our ever-expanding table.

About Us

When you think about "home", what does this mean for you? For us that never has been an easy question. We would love to own a home near family, and just enjoy building a community in one place. It’s the "American dream!", right? But at the same time, as missionaries, we are very transient and it gets hard to not look at the new place as a temporary place. It has been neat to see God challenge us in what our view of “home” is. Maybe it’s not a place, but a calling; and maybe it’s not a house, but the people in it.

20 years ago home looked very different for us as single and new college graduates just beginning to understand what a life in ministry could look like. Tricia had the opportunity to live and serve in Kazakhstan with Cru, followed by a year interning back at her alma mater UC Davis. During that same time period I (Nich) interned with Cru in China, and then we both joined full-time staff with Cru in 2005. Hawaii would be home for Tricia for the next seven years, where she co-led a team of staff and students committed to magnifying Jesus' Light from the University of Hawaii and the Islands to a broken world. Meanwhile, I (Nich) found myself at home in Orange County, California learning what it meant to live outside my comfort zone working, living and playing alongside Asian-American staff, students and friends near UC Irvine.

Tricia’s and my path would cross occasionally, but we didn’t have the chance to minister together until we led a summer missions project to Nagoya, Japan in 2008. We began dating soon after, were in engaged January 2010, and married in October that same year. Orange County, California would be home and ministry for us for the next four years, and we would also see the birth of our daughter Naomi and son Tosh.

In 2014 we found ourselves called to move our family to China, and for three years we made it home and welcomed our 3rd child Rohan. To sum up those three years we would say it was both exciting and challenging. It stretched our faith to lead our team, love them and our family well, while trying to embrace living in a completely new culture. At the same time, it made it worthwhile to see students place their trust into Jesus while seeing each of our teammates and children grow in their knowledge of our great God.

Upon returning to Southern California in 2017, we began caring for and resourcing Cru staff and their families living and serving internationally. We have seen God use our 2 decades of experience in making a new place a welcoming home to share meals with new and old friends, minister to our neighbors and local community, and serve our staff and interns living abroad.

2022 marks 20 years Tricia and I have served as missionaries with Cru - what a milestone!! Whether it has been 20 years or 1 year, we are so thankful for those who have partnered with us in witnessing lives changed through knowing & following Jesus. We covet the investments, encouragement and prayers of our ministry partners, as together we continue on this journey, trusting God for what would be “home” as long as He calls us to bring the life, love and hope of Jesus to the nations and tribes of this world.
